Why W-2 matters
The same number is worth more as a W-2.
On a 1099 you pay both the employee and the employer share of Social Security and Medicare, and you carry your own coverage. As a W-2 SHIFTer, the employer share is on us. In California, every SHIFTer is W-2 — SHIFTit is your employer of record on every shift, without exception.

Verification moves faster when they're on hand.
- Active license or certification for your role
- Government-issued photo ID

- Immunization records, including TB and flu
- BLS/CPR card
- Recent work history and two references
