SHIFTit Breakroom: Story Submission Terms

These terms apply when you submit a story to the SHIFTit Breakroom, part of the SHIFTerz Lounge at shiftithealth.com/shifterz-lounge, operated by SHIFTit, Corp. ("SHIFTit," "we"). By checking the box on the submission form, you agree to them.

1. Who can submit

You must be at least 18 years old.

2. Your story must protect patients and others

You confirm that your story:

• is your own story and describes your own experience;
• contains no information that could identify a patient, resident or client, including names, initials, photos, dates, room or bed numbers, diagnoses or details unusual enough to identify someone;
• contains no confidential information of any employer, school or facility, and does not name a facility;
• does not name or identify a coworker, classmate or instructor unless that person has agreed;
• is not defamatory, harassing or demeaning toward any patient, family, coworker or group; and
• does not violate any law, professional rule or agreement you are bound by, including HIPAA and your employer's or school's policies.

3. Permission to edit and publish

You give SHIFTit a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to edit, publish, display, reproduce and adapt your story (for example as a short excerpt or a share image) on SHIFTit's websites, apps, emails, including SHIFTerz Weekly, and social media accounts. You keep ownership of your story.

4. You approve the final version

We may edit your story for length, clarity, style and privacy. We will send you the edited version, and we will not publish it until you approve it. We may decide not to publish any story, for any reason.

5. How you are credited

You choose to be credited by first name and role (for example "Jessica, RN") or as anonymous (for example "Anonymous CNA"). Your email address is used only to contact you about your story and is never published.

6. Removal

You can ask us to remove your published story at any time through shiftithealth.com/contact. We will remove it from the Breakroom within 10 business days. We cannot remove copies other people have already shared.

7. No payment

Submissions are voluntary and unpaid.

8. Privacy

We handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy (shiftithealth.com/privacy) and, for California residents, our California Privacy Notice (shiftithealth.com/ca-privacy-notice).

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The version you agreed to applies to the story you submitted.
